The Douglas Hotel closed on October 1, 1982, and a witness recalled seeing her outside in the days leading up to the closure. She reportedly left to travel to the Joliet Motor Lodge in Joliet, Illinois but never arrived. She was reported missing on January 29, 1983. Her whereabouts remain unknown.
