Michele J. Garcia was an 18-year-old high school student and resident of the 200 block of N. Melrose Avenue. On July 27, 1980 her body was discovered, concealed within a cistern on the property. She had been shot and killed. A suspect was initially charged in 1980; however the case was dismissed and this case remains unsolved.
